'I need you to know just how busy we have all been since the Stringbeans Bistro you designed has been going and to let you know how overwhelmed our customers are of the transformation you have created. I certainly think I got what I asked for, three wonderful rooms to enjoy - not to mention the bar area where the whole experience starts. What I asked for in design from you Kyla came in a package which included exceptional attention to detail not just in finishing touches but your whole approach to this project. And you have driven the whole event forward in good time. It has been good to work with Kyla, to be able to share a vision, and know it will certainly be undertaken professionally. Many many thanks to you and I look forward to our next exciting project.'

The ClientOur client is the proprietor of Ambleside Garden Centre in Warwickshire. In addition to a fantastic garden and aquatics centre, the owner also ran Stringbeans Coffee Shop. Our client wanted to expand the cafe to provide a more premium dining experience. |
The ChallengeThe challenge was in the sourcing and spatial planning of the shabby chic furniture through a combination of comfortable luxurious sofas and easy chairs in the spacious coffee lounge, square tables for lunchtime diners in the seated courtyard and round tables (including an extendable table seating up to 12 for private dining facilities) in the cabin. |
|
The BriefOur design brief was to create a sophisticated coffee lounge and dining area, incorporating a covered courtyard area and more exclusive private dining in a themed cabin. The client wished to create separate zoned areas for different dining requirements, while maintaining an overall 'Traditional Country French with a contemporary twist' theme throughout. |
The FeedbackWe were able to help our client see the full potential of the space using a blend of vintage and contemporary interior design cues within an exterior courtyard feel: all of which had to be compliant with various planning and fire regulatory requirements. The result is highly acclaimed local eating destination of choice and has featured in Warwickshire Living Magazine (May 2010). |
